Buddy’s Night Club  http://www.buddysedmonton.com

Entrance to Buddies Night Club is off Jasper Avenue and is easy to find because of its bright rainbow flag above the door; parking is on the street and metered. The club is open 7days a week and from 9pm to 2am – 3am serves and has draught beer. The layout of the club is centred around the main bar with another small bar at the back. There are three pool tables, a small stage that is also a dance floor, a variety of Video games, TV monitors and an ATM if you run out of cash. There are plenty of seating throughout and reasonable amount of barstools, washrooms are clean and more that two. Entertainment is varied with plenty of fun promotions including male strippers and the bar staff are friendly and informative. The friendly clientele is mostly men with a young following and on the weekends quite a few straight women.

Woody’s Pub

11723 Jasper Avenue, Edmonton. Ph [780] 488-6557

Located above Buddys right on Jasper Avenue, Woodys Pub is a great spot to relax after work for a few drinks while watching the world rush by on the street below. Sometimes the atmosphere is quite smoky and this can be annoying. Woodys has a long run of happy hour prices before merging with Karaoke Sunday – Wednesday. Open 7 days/week at Noon

Accommodations

Northern Lights Bed and Breakfast

P.O. Box 515, Edmonton, Ab. T5J 2K1  Ph. [780] 483-1572

Northern Lights B&B has been operating for several years and I have stayed many times and found the hosts friendly, informative and helpful. The house which is a single story is around 30 years old and is located not far from West Edmonton Mall. In the summer the outdoor swimming pool is available and is quite private and guests are welcome to be themselves. The guest rooms are comfortable though not large and either have ensuite bathroom or private bathroom, all rooms come with TV/VCR. Breakfasts are great and well presented.

I have no hesitation in recommending the Northern Lights B&B for your gay and lesbian accommodation while visiting Edmonton

Down Under Bath House

12224 Jasper Avenue, Edmonton. Ph. [780] 482-7960

Located on the Jasper Avenue not far from Buddies, the Down Under Bath House has been been operatin as an Edmonton’s gay bathhouse for several years. The baths are located on the lower level and consists of an area with a hot tub, sauna room, showers, 2 video rooms one smoking the other nonsmoking and a TV lounge. As usual dim lighting and the corridors are created with room dividers and are carpeted. Bathrooms are reasonable with a couple of  “Glory Holes”, housekeeping is good and Down Under is well organized and presents special theme nights.

Open 24 hrs and clientele is men only and age range is mixed. Light snacks are available. The rooms are basic, carpeted, clean, with open ceiling protected with chicken wire. I found the staff efficient and helpful.
